Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel to Participate in Panel on Supreme Court Abortion Ruling

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel will be one of four panelists at a public forum, “Post Roe v. Wade: Implications for the Supreme Court Decision in Michigan,” a deliberative dialogue from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 27 September at Delta College Commons.

The event is part of the Delta Policy Forum Series.

The interactive audience roundtable will discuss the constitutional context of the Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the status and application of Michigan’s abortion law, and options for women facing pregnancies in crisis.

The event is part of an ongoing series at Delta that brings together a panel of experts to talk about issues of public concern. The in-person audience will be organized into round tables, providing discussion and an opportunity to report back from each table. Such deliberative dialogue aims to help participants develop more informed opinions, practice civil dialogue and find common ground.

Other panelists at the event include Lisa Lawrason, professor of political science at Delta College; Christina Miller-Bellor, professor of sociology at Delta College; and Dr. Audrey Stryker, MD, OB/GYN.

The panel will be moderated by Mark Balawender, professor of philosophy at Delta College.

The event is also accessible remotely at Delta’s Midland and Saginaw centers. An ASL interpreter will be available for the event at Delta’s main campus.
