MILTON — The school building committee has scheduled two online forums about the proposal to build a middle school next to Milton High School.
Forums are scheduled for Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 10 at 4 p.m. on Zoom.
The committee will share information about the need for a new school, an overview of the proposed site, a review of classroom layout options for the new building, and the progress being made in constructing the school.
School Superintendent James Jette, Middle School Principal Pierce Bill Fish and Collicot School Principal Holly Concannon will join the committee for the forums.
Initial plans call for a brand new school that would allow the district to move fifth-grade students up to the middle school level and free up space in elementary schools. Braintree is running a similar project with the new South Middle School, which began in February.

The public is invited to share their thoughts on Milton’s proposal and ask questions about the proposed site and classroom configuration of the school system. Voters at the May 2 annual town meeting will consider two papers about the proposed new school.
The Zoom ID for Thursday’s meeting is 973 3222 9480 and the ID for the March 10 meeting is 952 8421 5767.
