Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum Award 60 scholarships

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum awarded 60 scholarships of $1,000 each this year, bringing the total awarded by our organization to more than $1 million. We accepted scholarship applications from 23 schools in 6 ISDs in our service area. We are proud to serve Magnolia, Conroe, Cypress, Tomball, Spring and The Woodlands. In the early fall of each year, councilors receive posters advertising our scholarship and applications for interested senior girls. CWJF volunteers typically interview applicants in February and March, but due to Covid restrictions, other arrangements had to be made to ensure high school students received their scholarships. Many zoom interviews were conducted, with a few phone calls to boot. The primary consideration in the selection process is to reward, honor and encourage students who have dedicated their time and energies to bettering their world through heartfelt community service.

Please join the Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum in congratulating the following winners:

In addition to the FCJF Founding Member Scholarship, we also administer a special scholarship of $1,000 which is awarded annually on a rotating basis through the 6 ISDs in our service area. In 2021-2022, the Performing Arts Council of North Houston Scholarship was awarded to Rachel Elfman of Tomball High School. To be eligible for this scholarship, graduating girls or boys must be planning a performing arts or technical performing arts major, such as music (instrumental or vocal), acting, dance, costume design , lighting design or sound design. The main criterion for evaluating candidates is their excellence in a chosen discipline (awards and other recognitions), their financial need and their academic results. In 2022-2023, we will be accepting applications from Conroe ISD students for the Performing Arts Council of North Houston Scholarship.
