Dylan Alcott’s sex therapist girlfriend Chantelle Otten temporarily withdraws book from sale after cover dispute
Melbourne sex therapist Chantelle Otten has temporarily withdrawn her new book, The Sex Ed You Never Had, due to issues with its cover.
The 30-year-old, who is the girlfriend of Paralympian Dylan Alcott, explained that the book’s design was too similar to the logo of an American company, The Sex Ed.
“It has come to the attention of myself, my publisher and our designer that the design of my book has similarities to the logo of a company in the United States,” she said in a moving video shared on Instagram.

âThis business is called The Sex Ed. And I’ll be honest, it’s a really tough situation to go through. I am mortified. In fact, I’m really devastated for everyone involved and it’s really not something I wish for anyone, âshe added.
Fighting back tears, Chantelle admitted that The Sex Ed would have been upset to see its intellectual property used elsewhere, but insisted that her publisher had not deliberately copied the work.
âI can only imagine for The Sex Ed, finding this online would have been really brutal, and I’m sorry for that,â she said.

âIt’s an amazing platform that does a great job advocating for sexuality. We kind of just ended up in this unfortunate, weird coincidence here, and it sucks.
Chantelle added that while the design of her book was not a deliberate act of plagiarism, she had to “act immediately” to resolve the issue.
âWe decided to change the design of the book and we also removed the images from the past,â she said.
